tinyFilter: The Web content filter for Google Chrome!
The tinyFilter extension is a tiny Web content filtering tool. As any other content filter, it uses predefined rules to filter a variety of Web sites. Additionally, tinyFilter provides a profanity filter to mask words that may be offensive to the user.
This extension is indispensable for users that have small children and need to protect them from undesirable Web sites.
TinyFilter is based on a “detect-and-block” method. The various lists can be customized to suit the needs of the users; in fact, this extension does not emphasize on blocking pornographic material only. It may be used for other purposes as well.
This extension provides support for list subscriptions. A list subscription is a text file used to maintain the filter's lists up-to-date and, for bandwidth's sake, it is updated every 72 hours. These subscriptions are recommended to those users who prefer using someone else's filtering rules without having to adjust their settings. If necessary, the user may generate and maintain his/her own list subscription.
